TYPE III MAGAZINES

The TREAD DAY-BOXES – IME COMBO BOXES are manufactured and comply with specifications that meet and/or exceed those standards established by the IME, and are accepted by DOT for the transport of detonators, det cord, C4, and dynamite when other explosive materials are on the same vehicle.

Day Box

Certified to meet or exceed 27 CFR 555.209

Body Construction

  • 11 gage exterior metal
  • ½” AC plywood in walls, floor, and ceiling
  • Walls are covered with ½” plywood
  • Ceiling is covered with ½” plywood
  • Floor is covered with ½” plywood
  • Internal wood connected with non-sparking rivets

Top Opening 

  • Lid is constructed of 11 gauge steel metal
  • Lid is covered with ½” plywood
  • Lid has a minimum of (2) 6” steel hinges welded to the Magazine
  • Hinges receive bonding straps for grounding to the exterior shell
  • Lid is equipped with one Hasp with ¼” steel hood cover.

Paint

  • 7 mils high solids urethane
